Swimming Gala Highlights Study-Sports Balance and Community Spirit
On September 30, 2024, our school held its annual Swimming Gala at Sha Tin Jockey Club Swimming Pool, where students competed fiercely against their schoolmates. Swimmers battled for awards in individual, class, and house categories across Grade A, B, C, and Open divisions, showcasing their talent and determination. The return of alumni for their own races added an extra layer of excitement, bridging the school’s past and present.
The gala underscored the value of balancing academics and athletics. Students, managing demanding schedules of study and training, exemplified discipline and focus—qualities that shine in both textbooks and swim lanes. Their hard work paid off with every lap, proving that sports enhance, rather than detract from, academic success. This harmony of mind and body was a lesson for all.
Alumni participation deepened the event’s sense of community. Former students returned to race, rekindling school pride and inspiring current swimmers with their enthusiasm. This collaboration between students and graduates highlighted a tight-knit school family, united by shared experiences and mutual support.
As the pool echoed with cheers on September 30, the Swimming Gala became a celebration of effort and connection. By blending study with sport and weaving together students and alumni, it reinforced our school’s ethos: success comes from working as one, in and out of the water.
