From December 11 to 13, 2025, 20 Form 4 and Form 5 students, led by 3 accompanying teachers, went to Liuzhou, Guangxi, to familiarize themselves with the ethnic culture of Guiliu and STEM development, and to establish a sister school relationship with Liuzhou Senior High School.
On the first day of the trip, the team visited a cultural street themed around Liu Zongyuan, and enjoyed a wonderful stage drama during dinner. The drama, with its blend of solemnity and humor, recreated famous historical events involving Liu Zongyuan in Liuzhou, allowing the audience to experience the deep affection the people of Liuzhou have for him. The following day, the team arrived at the Liunan Campus of Liuzhou Senior High School, where Principal Cai and Principal Lu Tao held a sister school pairing ceremony. After the ceremony, guided by students from Liuzhou High School, the students visited the school’s History mini-Museum and STEM museum, learning about the school’s development in both history and technology.
After that, the team participated in a history class on the topic of “Viewing History from the Walls: The Economic, Social, and Cultural History of the Liao, Song, Xia, Jin, and Yuan Dynasties in Murals.” After class, the basketball teams from both schools played a friendly match. The two schools completed their first exchange and interaction through a combination of classroom and extracurricular activities, emphasizing both academic and athletic pursuits. After leaving Liuzhou Senior High School, the students experienced ethnic cuisine featuring Zhuang and Dong ethnic characteristics, and then participated in a workshop at the SAIC-GM-Wuling Electric Vehicle Teaching Center, where they built four simple electric-powered vehicle sets under the guidance of professionals.
On the last day, the team visited “Liuhou Park” and “Liuhou Temple,” echoing the theme of the first day, to gain a deeper understanding of Liu Zongyuan’s background and local contributions, as well as the historical development and the sentiments of ancient literati who cared for their country and its people. After the trip to Liuzhou, both teachers and students expressed that they had gained a lot and that the trip was worthwhile. We hoped that the students would broaden their horizons and grow as individuals.
2025年12月11日至13日,蔡鳳雯校長、陳威桓老師及林偉龍老師帶領20位中四至中五級學生,前赴廣西壯族自治區柳州市,體會桂柳民族文化及STEM發展,並與當地重點學校——柳州高級中學(下稱柳高)結為姊妹學校。行程首天,團隊先到訪一條以柳宗元為主題的文化街,晚膳時欣賞一齣精彩的舞台劇。該劇以莊諧兼具的風格,重現柳宗元在柳州所發生的著名史事,讓觀眾可以體驗柳州人對柳宗元的濃厚情感。翌日,團隊到達柳州高級中學的柳南校區,本校蔡校長與盧濤校長進行姊妹學校結對儀式。儀式後在柳高學生的導賞下,同學參觀了柳高的歷史教材微博物館及科技館,認識柳高在歷史與科技兩方面兼及古今的發展。其後,團隊參與了一節高一歷史課堂,課題為「壁上觀史——壁畫中的遼宋夏金元的經濟、社會及文化史」,課後兩校籃球隊進行了一場籃球友誼賽,兩校以「課堂內外」、「文武雙全」的方式,完成了第一次的交流互動。離開柳高後,同學先體驗具備壯族、侗族特色的民族餐飲,再到「上汽通用五菱」電動車教學中心進行一場工作坊,在專業人員指導下親手構建四台簡單的電能驅動車組。最後一天,團隊參訪「柳侯公園」、「柳侯祠」,呼應第一天的主題,更深入地認識柳宗元的背景及當地貢獻,認識歷史發展及古代文人以家國百姓為念的情懷。柳州之旅結束後,師生都表示收穫豐盛、不枉此行,期望學生能擴闊眼界,有所成長。
