Our School Wins Outstanding Award for Best Aesthetics at the STEAM Chinese Lantern Design Competition and Exhibition

Our school’s teachers and students actively participated in the STEAM Chinese Lantern Design Competition and Exhibition under the theme “Innovation’s Light, Illuminating the Beauty of Chinese Tradition”. By successfully integrating STEAM educational elements, we reinterpreted traditional Chinese lantern culture and presented lantern artworks that combine modern appeal with interactivity.

The event aimed to promote China’s excellent traditional craftsmanship and aesthetics, encouraging students to incorporate knowledge of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM) into their design thinking. It sought to cultivate hands-on practical skills, interdisciplinary collaboration, and creative design abilities that blend innovation with cultural depth. Through the process of making and exhibiting their lanterns, students gained a profound experience of the charm that arises from fusing traditional culture with modern technology, while further strengthening their understanding and sense of identification with Chinese culture.

Our school entered two teams in the competition. One team performed outstandingly, advancing through the rounds and winning the Outstanding Award for Best Aesthetics among more than 70 participating schools and nearly 100 competing teams. During the creation process, our students fully demonstrated creativity, patience, and cross-disciplinary integration skills. Not only did they engage in meaningful exchanges with teachers and students from other schools during the exhibition held from 7 to 9 May 2026, but the project also deepened their understanding of and emotional connection with traditional Chinese culture.

Congratulations to the award-winning students! We hope this achievement will inspire more students to continue unleashing their creativity and to carry forward the beauty of Chinese culture through innovative thinking.
