Austin, Eddie, and Angelina put up a spirited fight in the Quarter Finals of the 10th Inter-Government Secondary School English Debating Competition this past Saturday, the 11th of May. The debate motion was that “all non-essential cars and trucks should be banned in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.” The decision went to the competition, Queen Elizabeth School, who argued loudly and assertively. The STGSS debaters made a valiant effort, but unfortunately were on the wrong side of the adjudicators’ decisions. The STGSS debating team will rise again next year to challenge in this debate competition.
