The STGSS Career Expo 2025 was held on 8 November, with the Careers Committee placing special emphasis on fostering communication between parents and students regarding JUPAS choices. To encourage open dialogue, the committee designed a heart-warming notecard themed on filial piety, inviting students to jot down their top three JUPAS choices and to share their thoughts proactively with their parents.
The event began with a JUPAS Strategies talk delivered by Miss Siu, Senior Supervisor of the Information Section of Hok Yau Club (學友社資料組資深督導蕭小姐). Senior students and their parents attended this informative session, which covered essential topics related to further studies, including preparation for the DSE exam result release, the JUPAS mechanism, and useful online platforms such as E-APP. The session helped both parents and students gain valuable insights and received positive feedback from the audience.
In the second session, students from S.4 to S.6 participated in the Careers Fair, where alumni from various professions returned to their alma mater to share their experiences. Based on pre-fair survey results, students were thoughtfully assigned to groups to maximize the relevance of alumni sharing. Post-event surveys indicated that students found the session enlightening; they appreciated the alumni’s wholehearted sharing on career details, interview strategies, and university lifestyles. The alumni’s perspectives helped students understand the factors influencing career planning and further studies, as well as the personal attributes essential for successful career development. Thanks to the dedicated contributions of our alumni, this year’s Career Expo was a great success.
