香港文化博物館 X 沙田官立中學 《山海為家:微型風景習作展》 Mountains and Sea as Home: Miniature Landscape Studies

Hong Kong Heritage Museum X Sha Tin Government Secondary School

Mountains and Sea as Home: Miniature Landscape Studies

The exhibition Mountains and Sea as Home: Miniature Landscape Studies, jointly organised by the Hong Kong Heritage Museum and Sha Tin Government Secondary School, held its opening ceremony on 14 May 2026 at the Hong Kong Heritage Museum. The opening was officiated by Mr. Lam Kwok-fai, Director of the Hong Kong Heritage Museum, and Ms. Choi Fung-man, Principal of Sha Tin Government Secondary School. On the same day, the school’s Chinese Music Ensemble performed the piece Landscape, adding an artistic ambiance to the event.

“Mountains and Sea as Home” — the mountains represent a sanctuary for the soul, while the sea symbolises boundless possibilities in life. Together, they form one’s spiritual homeland and embody the ideal dwelling place.

This thematic art study exhibition is an important initiative by the Hong Kong Heritage Museum to promote arts education in schools. Sha Tin Government Secondary School is the first secondary school to participate in this collaboration. The exhibition showcases clay miniature landscape works created by forty students. Within these small spaces, the students have recreated mountains and seas, blending their daily observations, inner feelings, and visions of the future into palm-sized miniature landscapes. The project aims to encourage students to explore their imagination of “home” through art, express their emotional connection to the community, and share these with the public.

The exhibition is now open at the Hong Kong Heritage Museum and will run until 31 October 2026.
