Cultivate Our Talents with Good Life Planning
Design, Creative Media, Fine Arts, Fashion & Textiles
On 16th January 2021, two alumni who are working in the art and design industry, and six alumni who are studying in related disciplines had an online sharing session with 22 S4-S6 students interested in this field. They had very meaningful conversations about the career prospects and the latest interview requirements of art-related programmes in universities. The speakers shared about the similarities and differences between the various similar programmes among different universities. For example, students would now have a better understanding about the differences between BA Creative Media and BSc Creative Media offered by the School of Creative Media in City University of Hong Kong. They also acknowledged that undergraduate students in Fine Arts in CUHK and BA Visual Arts in HKBU can have some common courses and utilize the facilities in the campus of each other. The sharing was eye-opening to not only our students, but also the teachers. It was also fruitful to all participants who knew what cultural activities they can join during their secondary school and postsecondary school life to broaden their horizons to add colours to their portfolio and to build connection with the outstanding artists in the field. Thank you, alumni, for supporting the events:

The sharing was amazing. Before attending it, I was kind of confused by the different subjects under art and design, as well as being unsure about my future path. Being kind and sweet, the alumni explained very well about the different subjects and each shared their personal experience. I am now more familiar with what I will experience in the future.

I am interested in the BA Scheme in Fashion & Textiles in PolyU. In this event, the alumni provided updated and useful information about what to be learned in this programme. It is of great help for me in choosing a suitable programme in the future.
